Artlounge : Featured Artist

FROM ARTLOUNGE COLLECTIVE:

This week we are recognizing Artist and Advocate Eugene Huffman.

Eugene Huffman is a Queer, HIV Positive Abstract Expressionist who uses color psychology alongside mythological tales to represent struggle and survival. Many pieces are a showcase of Huffman’s underbelly, allowing these vulnerable conversations to be had with other queer folk and aiding in the community’s path to healing. His work uses symbols of self-repair and growth by replicating the Japanese art of Kintsugi on canvas. Allowing his history of living through abuse and trauma be a part of him, assuring the growth from these strengthen him rather than break him.

Eugene Huffman is currently on display in several locations:

Pride State Exhibition at the Mondrian Los Angeles (IG: mondrianlosangeles) : 8440 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood CA 90069

The Artists Showcase at The Artist Tree West Hollywood (IG: theartisttree_official) : 8625 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood CA 90069

Featured Artist: Artlounge Collective (IG: artloungecollective) in Los Angeles : 145 N La Brea #F, Los Angeles CA 90036 : Open Wed-Sun 10am-6:45pm

Pride Month may be just 4 weeks of the year, but for a business like us, it is a monumental time to celebrate the achievements of our queer communities, present and past. Artlounge Collective is proud to be queer owned and operated while having over 25% of our artists be queer identifying. We recognize this 24/7, 365 days of the year. So this series of recognizing queer excellence will continue on outside of Pride Month.

Viele Grüße! Frohen Pride!
